About Antje Boetius

Antje Boetius is a marine researcher who studied at the University of Hamburg and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. She leads a working group for deep-sea ecology and technology at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology and is Professor of Geobiology at the University of Bremen. She has been the Scientific Director of the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research since November 2017. She is also chair of the steering committee of Science in Dialogue.
