About Christian Luft
Christian Luft studied administrative sciences at the University of Constance. He has been working in administration since 1991, starting in the state government of Baden-Württemberg before moving to the Federal Government. He headed up the directorate-general for ‘Social Insurance, Old-Age Security, Social Assistance’ at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. Subsequently, he was Director-General for ‘Social, Health, Labour Market, Infrastructure and Societal Policy’ at the Federal Chancellery, where he was also responsible for education and research. He has been State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research since October 2018.
